Do I have to compress the piston rings to get the pistons to slide back into the sleeves? is there an easy method?

Yes you do have to compress the rings to get the pistons into the cylinder. There is a taper on the bottom of the cylinder. I used that and my finders to help me get the rings compressed and the pistons in the cylinder. Some folks use a ring compresser to do the same thing. Both ways are good.Use a block of wood to hold the cylinder assembly us while compressing the rings. Get a a manual or check out www.biker.net for a online manual.
