Hey 650ers

my buddy has an 81 650 special. stock.

has had it for 18 months or so and is exeperiencing the following:

"Shifting through gears or finding neutral becomes impossible as the bike heats up. When I first start riding everything is fine, the shifting is perfect and I can get it into neutral easily. If I start to ride for over 30 minutes or so it starts to get harder and harder to shift into gear and finding neutral becomes almost impossible. The only way to actually get the bike to shift down in gears is to rev the engine into much higher RPM's which seems to work.

I replaced the friction plates and springs about 8 months ago to try to solve the issue but it really didn't make any difference. I've changed the oil last week and still have issues."

not sure what to search for this issue here but would love to know what the issue is.

The good of adjusting clutches is that it takes no time.
Some suggest backing the screw out a sixth to a quarter turn before locking it down. Try any and all to find what works. Give an update.
