I am going to change my cam bearings today i have heard it can be done without breaking the cam chain. Anybody have the secret to this do you just slacken the cam chain and push them on and off one at a time? Thanks in advance

Eric

Nothin to it really. Just back off the adjuster and they should slide right off. Once you have all the other stuff like the points housings and such off, of course.

I haven't tried it yet, but I think with a little help you could do this with the engine still in the bike.
Remove the top engine mount and all the parts so you can lift the rocker box up. This is where the help comes in, have your helper hold the rocker box up while you slide the old bearings off and the new on. Just be sure they are on all the way and centered. It should work. If not you haven't lost anything. And if it does you saved your self a bunch.
