How do you remove the locating pips (yes, that's what they're called... according to Haynes at least) on the upper crank case where the crankshaft sits?
As you can see in the attached pictures, a couple of these locating "pips," pins, dowels, studs, whatever you want to call them, appear VERY worn down. Obviously, they should stick out enough so the locating marks on the crankshaft bearings lock into place with them. If the pips are worn down like this, how to do I get them out so I can replace them? This is looking tricky. Any thoughts or advice are appreciated. Thanks!
