When I took my bike to the shop to get some final bits done it dropped in the van and the iginition broke. So they replaced that with a new part. they guy cut some of the wires for some unknown reason when replacing this. I manged to hook them back up correctly or so I thought until I kick started the bike and it started smoking out of the light. This was the wires from the ignition switch melting.
Why would this happen only once the bike was started?
The wiring digram shows two wires from the ignition but the connector has 3
and I've forgoten to be honest why this is, should one of these be ground?
or should I only have the two?
I've read that it could be a fault of the ingition switch having an undersized conductor?

The shop may have thought that the headlight should be always ON, and the third wire for emergency taillight, trying to fix/improve your system to their way of thinking. Best check it over thoroughly...
