Interested in why Boyer is at the bottom of your list? I have a Pamco but know quite a few people who have the Boyer systems. It depends on your intended use and the existing ignition on your bike(points or TCI).
There is a significant number of options available these days.
I am not sure Newtronics are still going and Boyer would be near the bottom of my list.
Try a search on this site, then look at Electrex world, Vape, Tri spark and a home brew Gonzo system worked out by some creative members of this community. Those are the ones off the top of my head, there are others.
Years ago AWOL had an article on a prototype Isolastic (Norton) XS650. I would love to get an issue or copy of that. AWOL was not common this side of the pond. Have you ever seen that over there? Can only report what I've found. Have run Boyer ignitions on Kawasaki Z1B (which I ran with it for 18 years), Norton Commando, Triumph TR6, XS650 and now just fitted to a Royal Enfield Bullet. Have had zero problems with the Boyer on those bikes. Have not had to make up any spacers. Have had very good technical support from the company.
'Fraid not. Not a title I've read or remember seeing around.Years ago AWOL had an article on a prototype Isolastic (Norton) XS650. I would love to get an issue or copy of that. AWOL was not common this side of the pond. Have you ever seen that over there?
Tony Hall's HALCO?on a prototype Isolastic (Norton) XS650
Best, as in best aftermarket ignition available today, would be neither Boyer nor Newtronics. But Vape (formerly known as Powerdynamo) Absolutely no contest IMHO. And Vape will replace not only the points and condensers, but also the poor stock coils, the stock alternator, rectifier and voltage regulator. And can even be run without a battery if you can live with kickstart only.Hi , anyone know which electronic ignition kit is best for an xs650c? Boyer or Newtronics? Thanks
unfortunatley Tony Hall passed away about 20years agoTony Hall's HALCO?
Yes sir, in 2004. I was responding to the (hi jack) question regarding an XS with an isolastic type frame.unfortunatley Tony Hall passed away about 20years ago
