Farnborough and Edwards AFB in California are THE places to see military aircraft flying - as well as vintage aircraft.
Did the Hurricane have a variable pitch prop?I have also seen the data showing how well the Hurricane did. I also read that the Spitfire superseded the Hurricane because it was a more modern design and better suited to upgrading.
Yes. Prototypes didn't, but production ones did.Did the Hurricane have a variable pitch prop?
crazy that thing could haul the same bomb load as a Liberator or something like that. wow.The "Thud". #2 iron bomb hauler of the Viet Nam war. #1 being the #Buff". AKA the B-52.
Ah... what I wouldn't give to once again have a couple of full on afterburners passing over my house every day. I miss it.The community I live in is in the flight path for Luke AFB, we had to sign waivers when we bought the house, acknowledging that we were aware of that and ok with it. If I don’t hear at least a dozen of them fly directly over our house a day, then it’s a slow day. Some days they just loop around the field over and over for hours. Occasionally they fly until pretty late at night. If you’re outside talking to someone, you have to wait for them to pass, if you’re watching TV, they can drown it right out. I’m so used to it, it’s like living next door to a train track. It never bothered me.
