My stock '77 xs650 quit running on me yesterday and it took me a lot of trial and error to figure out that my kill switch was the culprit. The plastic inside the switch broke into 3 pieces so it is useless and isn't allowing me to start the bike. How can I bypass it to get my bike started?

go to biker.net and download a service manual. go to the back, and there is a stock wiring diagram. Any year manual will be close enough I think. That diagram will have what you need to know to bypass the switch.

Jayel, I started a new thread because I felt that it was a separate issue, i.e. not a fuse issue, like on my last thread. I didn't intend to step on any toes, just trying to keep my posts on topic. Any and all help is appreciated.

Just twist the wires together. Pulling them back out of the housing so they won't short out.
