Minton Mods?

Hello All, I'm a new member of the forum but a long time 650 owner. I bought my 75 650 new. So I am in the process of replacing the pitted fork tubes with a pair from a parts bike [also a 75] I acquired a few years ago. My question is when I took the forks apart from the parts bike I discover that the damper rods have been drilled for I assume the Minton Mods. What is the opinion of members here? Should I install them or just stick with originals? In looking at the original directions all I see is for the 35mm forks not the 34mm.

Try them, mess with oil level and viscosity as needed.

Thank's, that's what I was thinking. Somewhere I saw posted to increase the amount 7oz of 10w so I think that's where I'll start.
