Here is my situation:
Rear: Wheel I got with my bike is a spoked 16" rear drum wheel.
Delima: No drum internals or sprocket on the wheel when I got it.

Front: Forks are off a Suzuki gt750 and the wheel is a 19" wheel with dual discs on it.
Delima: Not sure if tire is for a xs650 or a gt750. No Brake Calipers for dual discs.

My thoughts:
Rear: Get drum internals that will fit and work in my current wheel. Or get a new wheel all together with rear drum setup

Front: Get a new wheel that will fit the GT750 forks. I am also looking to switch to a front drum also so a new rim is my best bet.

If your rear wheel is an XS650 wheel, then any XS650 brum brake plate will work.
On the front wheel, Check the axle size. The xs650 is 17 mm. I don't know about the Suzuki axle. Will the axle for your forks fit the wheel?
You can run either a single or dual caliper up front. Either way will work better than a drum.

Looking into my caliper options.

Mounting doesnt matter seeing I will be custom machining and welding a braket on them.

My front discs are 11.5" round and 7mm thick (.275).
