Neutral switch question

There is a phillips screw on what looks like a mechanical switch under the left carb on the top of the case. Is that the neutral switch? My bike does not have one, and I would like to add it back in. If that is correct, is that a positive or negative wire connection? My bike has an aftermarket speedo that I don't like, so I just ordered a nicer small speedo with a neutral light.

Based on your description...yes. It switches to ground when in neutral.

So if I understand correctly, you attach the neg wire to it, and power to the neutral lead, which is likely goinng to be green on the speedo I think)

Positive Power goes to the Neutral Light. The Negative wire from the Neutral Light goes to the Neutral switch. When the bike is set in Neutral the switch is now ON and completes the circuit to ground so the Neutral Light goes on..
