The "old one" might go on display, in the bedroom.
On the dresser.
I admire guys who have a full motorcycle in their bedroom.

Would you be interested in selling your old tank? My '75 tank has a lot of sun damage and just want one in decent condition. Your old one looks pretty good from the pictures.

Yep, DogBunny addressed this in his opening post:

"I see is that it has the later style gas cap -- this has been discussed before, it is normal for later production 1975 tanks"

That tank is beautiful, congratulations. It may have cost a lot but repainting existing tank is not cheep even if doing it yourself
I’d painted my ‘75 red some years ago and am now in process of going back to the original black and gold. The pictures you’ve posted help with decal placement so thanks for sharing . Also provides some needed motivation when covered in sanding dust
