Photobucket big changes

I get that but how/who gets the image files to the new url? A script could find a 5T photo bucket link, pull the image file frlm photobucket then upload it to the new url, no? If the files are already at the new url by the same name then yes it's a global cut replace path change.

Man if you technical wizards could actually make this work that would be nothing short of amazing.

I'd really like to know how the files get to the new host. If 5T has the files archived some where and the file names are preserved between xs650.com links and 5Ts archives we can pull data from 5Ts archives. Assuming a script can't get through photobucket 's captcha.

^That's a separate thing. I think he said he's found a host. I assume he has some way to put them there. If it was me I would use an ftp program, where you just select a bunch of files on your computer and click transfer to upload to a url and go have lunch. The normal easy industrial way to get something on a server.

I have some things stored on general purpose space provided for free by my isp, like I was saying. This picture is coming from there. Pizza. Just one suggestion

Here's a fix for Firefox that doesn't need an add-on, using info from what the guy above did.

enter about:config in the address bar
enter spoof in the search bar provided
network.http.referer.spoofSource will be found
change its value from false to true
close all Firefox windows and restart Firefox

Tested on Firefox 48.0 using this thread http://www.xs650.com/threads/starter-gear-fix.18060/

I just tried this above suggestion and it worked for me when I viewd my old tracker thread.

^Good. It works for me in about 90% of cases. It doesn't work for me with inxs's site. I read that the lastest versions of Firefox don't let addons change the Firefox configuration. So if the addon a couple of posts up doesn't work anymore you might try this. Just noticed this doesn't work with the test thread I gave anymore. Might be photobucket is plugging the hole?

That Firefox plugin is still working for me....mostly.
As far as "plugging" the hole, yeah, all the plugin does is spoof the referring URL and that's fairly trivial for Photobucket to fix.

It still works here, but on Hardcore Sledder it doesn't?

I found a partial workaround the other night.
Right click on the Photobucket "FeckYou" image and 'open in new tab/window'. That will take you to PB and a blank picture frame. From there, just click right or left and if you're lucky you might see the normal series of images the uploader put up. It doesn't work in all cases, but might in enough of them to make sense of the disrupted threads that are important.
