Hi, Gus! How's the weather up there, eh?
I hope so. I'm in Bovina, NY (Delaware County), about 50 miles NW of Kingston, NY off Rt 28.Yes, there's a good likelihood that you have degradation in these items, and they are not expensive to replace.
I'm anticipating that we here in the Syracuse area (not sure what part of NY you are in) will have a couple low-50's days left to take a short spin.
Good suggestion. I will do this first. Are a lot of older XS's owners converting ignitions from points to electronic?Hi Christen. Before buying all that stuff, try removing the spark plug wires from the caps and coils. Then cut off a 1/2" on both ends, then reconnect. It worked for me. I do that on my new wires, too. Can't hurt, no cost! Good luck.

I switched to the Pamco combo ignition/advance. And with the new coil, you boost the voltage to the plugs from about 12KV to 80KV. Not to mention never having to buy and set points.Good suggestion. I will do this first. Are a lot of older XS's owners converting ignitions from points to electronic?
Palenville is in a beautiful area, too!Palenville
