He was one of a kind. Watch his Black and White, Roy Orbison and friends. The cast of characters is amazing. Springsteen, Costello, Tom Waits, KD Lang, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt. Think I'll watch that now! Thanks Dude.Roy O.

... which was released shortly after Roy died. Sad coincidence.hmmmm....that is a very nice video and version of that song Paul.
As for the Wilburys, I just listened to "End fo the Line" - which says it all for me.

A few weeks ago I spent most of the afternoon in my workroom listening to all my recordings of Tom Waits back-to-back. Long-time fan.He was one of a kind. Oh, yes.
We obviously have similar tastes in music.
I have the CD, and and a VHS videotape (no joke) I made of the broadcast.
I would have given up one of my own dogs to have been there for that Zappa/Waits concert.Phoenix has a small theatre in the round with a rotating stage. It was a big deal in the 70's but has kinda fallen into disrepair lately.
Anyway I saw a LOT of acts there back then , it was a very intimate venue with no bad seats.
I saw Frank Zappa there no less than four times and one of the times Tom Waites was the opening act, I can remember being mesmerized by him singing Diamonds on my Windshield.
But alas it was a rowdy crowd the didn't give the opening act the respect he deserved.
Well Frank is gone and Tom is still going, I love his bluesy style and gravelly voice.
And as for Johnny? He has the place of honor above my work bench.

When I feel depressed I listen to a little Santana, particularly this version:
