I have the right side cover off the motor at the moment and it looks like the gears for the RPM gauge can be removed easily. If I'm not using the RPM gauge can I remove these gears?
So - no you cannot remove them otherwise you will have no oil feed to your motor, Mikes XS offer a Tack block off kit to tidy up the external appearane of the tach drive.
I'm referring to the gears that are on the cover. Now the ones that are on the motor. There is a regular circle shaped gear and them a shaft type gear. Can I remove those?
The gears that run the tachometer are the same ones that drive the oil pump, These are inside the side cover. not on the engine............. it would be advisable you get a workshop manual.
well you can remove part of it, the cable driver (part 7 second pic), but if you do make DAMN sure you get (part 8 second pic) thrust washer out of there
