TCbros Oil tank?

This is to all of you with the TCbros faux oil tank. I'm in the process of building my bobber and I just bought one of these. My question is: How did you paint it? What I mean is that the caps are so tight how do you still make them removable with a coat of paint on it?

It's a bitch. Mine is powder coated and I had to grind all the powder off to get the ends to go on. Hopefully wont have to remove it because it is on tight.

I was thinking that the ends would be kind of loose and I could use set screws to hold them in, guess not. As long as I can get one of the sides off semi-easily I'd be cool with that.

I was thinking the same thing. I expected a loose fit on the caps, that could then be drilled and a hole tapped in the body of the tank.

Any chance of using a strip of emory cloth and work the can down a bit?

I doubt it. Probably better off making a few cuts and bending in the canister edges a bit.
