In an effort to improve "low speed handling" the 2nd gen revised in 05 steepened the steering head angle. increasing the tendency for head shake. the forum has about a "million" threads. Front tires cup, shake ensues, the short version. Aside from one outlier crash at 118MPH all either just deal with it, or spend a LOT of time and money with dubious success before deciding to just deal with it.Well, dampers (in general) sometimes won't work for all oscillation frequencies they encounter. If "they all do that" is the general consensus, I'd be looking at swapping it out for an aftermarket one that (hopefully) does a better job.
But that's jus' me....
Wayback story. The CB900F would weave at high speed on the race track, front tire was cupped in the middle. about 20 minutes with a belt sander removing the tread block edges that stuck up "fixed" it. The only set of tires I ever wore out at the edges not the middle............
I'll look at my front tire today. Note bike has an on board air compressor with a hose that reaches both tire valves.
I suspect if I dig in deep enough Ima gonna find the wine cellar.
PS previous owner had just returned from a 6500 out west trip. Bike won't spit me off anytime soon.
I may remove the quick connect trailer hitch.
