been watching 650 direct for awhile the jet i want is on back order, has been for like a month, more waiting. Then mocked up the bike to see what it looks like, and found out my drive chain runs pretty much through the center of it, about the width of it's self, Toss up, cut about an inch off the tank, cap covers it any how,or toss it and do the best at hiding the electric parts?

Get some 1x channel iron and weld a chain relief into the tank and put some delrin in it for a chain guide.

sounds alright, but it's just a 4 1/2 inch steel tube with caps, if i can i'm just going to cut an 1 inch off and replace the cap, with luck the chain will miss it by about 1/2 inch, if not, plan "B" don't use it and bolt the electric ig> box to that bracket under the seat,
