I'm having trouble trying to figure out wiring a 1979 650f. The bike came with
No wires at all. It did come with a single ignition coil with both plug wires
Coming out of it and only 2 wires in the back one orange and one red with white.
It also came with a reg./rectifier combo. The manual wiring schematic shows the coils
With orange, red and white, and gray. The gray goes to the points and condenser as well as the orange and the red with white goes to the kill switch. I think that it was upgraded from points to electric ignition because it had no points at all. My question is how can I wire the points and condenser to the coils with only the 2 wires coming from the coils. Thanks

Check if the points cam has one bump or two. I think the only way to use a dual tower coil with points is to use an aftermarket double bump cam from MikesXS firing ONE set of points. I have heard it is difficult or impossible to get both cylinders precisely timed with that cam. the two lumps are not accurately machined. IMHO you should toss the points and put in a PAMCO, probably the single best upgrade ever made for the XS650. Well worth the $100.
