XS650 bolt sizes..

What is the 'tech' thread sizes for the left and right engine (rotor&clutch) cover and also the valve covers.

I know the thread size by looking at it but is it like an M5 or M6 or something?

M6. Most everything on the bike is M6, M8, and a few M10s.

Go to Harbor Freight, get one of their plastic calipers. It has inch and metric scales. Not a very precise tool but at around $3 what can you expect. More than precise enough to measure bolts.
For a bit more precision they have a digital caliper that displays in inch and metric.
The plastic one, item #7914, $2.99. The digital is item# 68304, $19.99.

I have a good quality caliper, just my brain wasn't working for awhile to know that m5 and m6 were 5 and 6 mm. Thankyou though
