Don't know what it's like in the rest of the country, but go to any police station in Kansas City and they will literally give you as many of these locks as you want... absolutely free.
Here's the kicker... they never said I had to use it on a gun.

I have a box full of these locks (somewhere
) Every time I went to a police station, I'd grab one. Reason I was always at police stations was oldest son. He was a bit of a.... shall we say... hell raiser. 
He moved out over 10 yrs ago... long before the reign of Mayor Lucas.
Next time I'm at the KCVJMC meeting or the Santa Fe Trails AMCA Sunday Lunch I'll be certain to pass along this little nugget of security info to all of the boys and girls. Thanks!
