I set cam chain,valves,point gap,and now the electronic ignition with a strobe. The right side strobes nice and clear. The left looks erratic. I set the mark trying to average the difference of what looks like it flashes on either side of the l F l . .?? Ideas?

Pulled the filters and this is what I found. Do the long pieces look like cam guide parts to you? Not sure about the metal fragments in the filter?

Any way to see if the pump is working? I can ride for a while and I'm sure it's getting pretty warm, the valves seem to get louder when the oil thins down. But I'm wondering if I could make darn sure the pump is working "good".

Why do moto riders feel the need to wave to very bike they pass another bike? I would like to hear about wether you wave or not? Why do some do it and some do not. Personally I nod, but not all of the time. I guess I "pre judge" some folks? I do seem to have a problem with yuppy HD riders...

Are the turn signals also supposed to be running lights on a 79 special? Mine only flash with turn signal. I would like them to be on all of the time then flash when needed. Is there a mod?

How many RPM's is normal for the choke to boost up on startup? 100-200? I get about 125 more when cold starting. Is this normal or should it be more? Btw I have bs34 with stock jetting.

So I did the VR115 regulator mod and it seems to hold at 14 volts. No matter how high i rev it holds at 14v? Does anyone know of another regulator that might hold at say 15 volts?

The pads are still good and nothing rusted but at a stop I have to rock the bike backwards to get the rear brake to " release ". :shrug:

Need some ideas on how to hide these colorful wires. I might just make a plate and paint it black? This was a GOOD improvement to the bike. With the VR115 regulator and homemade rectifier, I have seen the charging system hit 14 volts for the first time!

If I put a vr115 regulator is it necessary to replace the rectifier? My experience is that a rectifier either works or it doesn't , agree?

I have replace a lot of parts including buying new carbs. New coils and points charging pretty well. This bike is now running pretty darn good! But only getting about 22mpg? I heard of guys getting close to 50! What do you guys think? Is my motor just tired at an estimated 20k miles? Runs strong...

It's hot here in Iowa. I parked my bike in a parking lot and as I walked back I thought it was leaning over a bit like it might fall over. When I got up to inspect I was amazed to see the kickstand was sinking into the pavement ! The pic just doesn't do it justice!

My camera makes the video a lot less dramatic. It really is moving quite a bit!
