Big TX500 project, any help appreciated!

Another busy day but a good day. Only have 2 days left of vacation then back to work :(
The steering stem now has fresh new bearings and is back on the frame. Forks are disassembled and ready to be reassembled tomorrow:)
Same for the brakes and master cylinder:)
All parts just came in, so tomorrow will be busy again!
Making progress:)

Finally starting to take shape. Every nut and bolt on this thing is clean. Lots left but I’m taking my time and enjoying every minute:)
Pretty exciting mounting the rebuilt front forks and wheels today.

Its certainly coming together now.
Keep up the work intensity and you'll be riding before you know it.

Getting close! I’m probably close to $500-$700 on parts. Oil filter turned out to be stock , that was $40. The $$$ doesn’t matter, it’s the enjoyment of bringing this beautiful piece of history back to life :)
You will notice in a few of the pics, the donor bike receiving no love or attention. Sad but at least one will look and ride just like it did out of the factory, back in 1973 :)

Really close now. Completed 80% of wiring. Exhaust finally installed. Had to swap out center stand to clear this exhaust. Guess the difference between 73 & 74 is a crossover pipe on exhaust.
Anyway, decided to stop and watch some football:)

Here she is 99.9% complete. I’m conditioning the original seat but after that… she’s done!
This did not take me as long as I thought it would. Fun resto for sure. When the weather clears up I will get some nice pics of her.
Oh shoot!!! Not so fast! I forgot the chain guard. So I guess I’m not done :)

That looks like a lot of good work to me. Looking forward to the grand reveal when complete

Thank you. I really enjoyed this one … and can’t wait to get her out on the road. With new tires and rebuilt brakes, should handle nicely. The new steering stem bearing will make a huge difference too. Nice weather next week :)

Okay!! Here she is all nice and pretty. The great reveal if you will.
I hope everyone enjoyed this resto. This one is a keeper. Rides like a dream :)
Take care everyone and thank you for letting me post on this bike.
Chow for now !

Must be said, a job well done. I would be proud to own that machine.
