Dear All: well, it's been a busy period on a lot of fronts, most f which were not related to playing with my toys
- we went to AZ for a few days last week and I met Daniel Black and saw Stella (and had awesome BBQ);
- I had some students to "tune up" due to some issues at their co-op work term employers and;
- my duties as chair of the board of the local public library have been chewing up most of the remainder.
As many of you are aware, I have managed to squeeze out a little time for some more organisation and clean-up in the DCW - and I'm pretty pleased with it now. I even found an old piece of carpet for the floor, plus Princess Auto (CDN version of Harbour Freight) had cushy shop floor mats on sale this week so I treated myself to some as my poor old feet seem to suffer if I plod around on bare concrete.
Here are a couple of pictures:
OK - NOW I've got this ding-danged picture posting thingy licked. You upload, then you place the blue cursor where you want it and THEN you tell it whether you want a thumbnail or full-size version. Thanks so much to TimeMachine for the tips - what a great guy!
As I was saying, if you look closely at the one of the little work bench, you may recognise the two bikes in the photos - one is Lucille and the other is my dream cafe bike - by forum member Brassneck.
With the return of a slightly more sane schedule and a relatively orderly place in which to work, I should begin to make some real progress on Lucille's beautification program and of course on the '81 Special-to-Cafe build.
Many thanks once again to everyone who has helped out with parts, advice and encouragement (and Coconut Pete - the fork tool arrived - MANY thanks!). I want to assure everyone that when these two bikes are done, I will happily return the favours I have been granted with any the surplus parts I have at that point. Right now, I'm pooped and so I'm going to watch some Doc Martin on Netflix.
Cheers all,
Pete
