I am rebuilding a 1972 XS650 B and I am ready to adjust the tappet spacing. My understanding is that the manual's exhaust spec of 0.3 is noted in error. Unfortunately, I am seeing a variety of recommendations. I do know that because the 256 motor cams are different, I cannot use the spec for bikes post 1973. Can anyone out there confirm the correct exhaust and intake spacing I should use. Thanks for the help.

I like .003" intake and .006" exhaust for all years. I got that from gggGary.

Agree with DogBunny... .003 and .006" are the numbers pretty much everyone uses on ALL Xs' these days.
