256 crank and cam into a 447 case?

I have asked this qestion of a couple of folks who probably know the answer, but I haven't gotten a response - so I thought I'd post it here.

One of the motors I am building has a rephased 256 crank and cam. I would also like to be able to put in a MikesXS OD 5th gear, but that won't fit in the early cases (according to Mike's web page).

Can I drop the crank, cam and cam chain into 447 cases?

Just change out the transmission, and then you can keep all the stuff you already have. Yes, all the parts will swap around between cases...
