Beginning Engine Tuning... Questions!!

As some may know, just got a '79 XS650 last week. Working through some electrical stuff. Coming along thanks to y'alls help...

Starting engine tuning. Read the tech pages. Very helpful. Saw some great YouTube stuff. Also very helpful.

Stupid Question... Here are some pictures

How do I know which one of the above circled models I have? Yes... the side cover say "650 Special" on it, but this thing is so Frankensteined that someone could have slapped a "Special" tag on there. Do I have a XS-F or a XS-SF?? How do I tell for sure?

Depending upon this answer, I have a follow-up question about my engine tuning...

I can see from pics in your other thread that you have a Special. The "tells" are the mag wheels and rear disc brake, rear shock angle, and the muffler attachment bracket on the frame. The Standard model had spoke wheels and a drum rear brake, more upright rear shocks, and a different style muffler hanger bracket on the frame.
