Brake caliper dustboot and retaining ring

Hi all,

I'm about to rebuild my brakes and the only thing that I can't figure out is how/where the retaining ring for the dustboot sits. In the attached image I used the old ones to mock up what I think it should be, but it does not look quite right as the ring pinches the dustboot slightly.

Can anyone enlighten me please?

The ring is sitting correctly in your photo. The boot looks old and tired. Get a caliper rebuild kit from 650 Central and it will come with new boot and retainer ring. Be sure to check the caliper piston for pitting before you order your parts, you may need one.

Thanks Roy. I was using the old piston and boot to test assembly. I have a brandnew kit and all installed now!
