Electric starter and shaft removal

I just pulled the starter motor and removed the cogs behind the cover below the front sprocket. Filled the hole with a freeze core plug 47mm lightly filed down to fit

The shaft supports the gear the gears under the cover by the drive chain engage. If you just remove the shaft from the right side behind the clutch the gear will just be floating around in side the case. You need to split the cases to remove this gear.
To do a rephase you will be splitting the cases so getting the gear out will be easy.
I thought I had diagrams showing the gears and shafts. If you have the Clymers book, page 86 has a diagram. The starter engages gear 21 which is hooked to gear 20 by 6 dampers. Gear 20 engages the gear 12 on the shaft, this is the gear you split the cases to get to. To pull the shaft you remove screw 14, stopper plate 13 and gear 11. This lets you pull the shaft. pic 25 on page 87 shows where these parts are, kinda below and behind the clutch.\You then remove parts 15-21as well as parts 1-9.
Some even remove the parts with no mumber that 1-9 mount on.
