They are metal and flexible enough to match the tank curve.
These were the best looking and closest fitting I could find, new or used. Been looking for months. The holes were also level not offset as all others I found. That was why I made note of them. I just redrilled the 2nd hole and it is hardly noticeable. Much better look than the empty retainer bars. An they are not plastic.
