Yep put too much 5w20 on & it’s too thick & leaks out. Noticed several mix w/gas. Has anybody tried mixing oil w/kerosene in spray bottle to solve this?

FWIW, I got hooked on PJ-1 aerosol air filter oil years ago. I use it on everything (except paper filters). It's red so it's easy to see your coverage.
I've always preferred to use whatever left over two stroke oil I had laying around. Saturate evenly and squeeze out the excess and it usually stays pretty evenly tacky that way...certainly well enough for street use. 
I use 50/50 mix of petrol and engine oil. Seems to work well for Taffy.

Expensive and for me too sticky and messy. I use my 32:1 gas mix for my Lawnboy mower. Sometimes I might add a bit more oil.
Yes, the actual foam filter oil may be too sticky, it may clog up the filter. The 50-50 mix suggestion comes from the Australian UNI web site and is what they recommend for the black foam pod filters ....
