How do I move my mid controls and pegs up a bit?

I'm new to the forum and just need some help with mounting my pegs onto my xs650 project. I was reading another thread where a guy said he wishes the pegs were exactly where the shifter rubber is and the brake pedal. I completely agree with that and I'm trying to find a way to do that so I can sit a bit more comfortably on my hardtail and not have to worry about the pegs hitting the ground on turns. (lowered a bit) also the brake pedal only goes so far and i cant get it to go far enough so the pegs is out of the way of my kickstart. Anyone know how to get longer controls without going all the way to forward controls? Maybe there is a different bike that has longer controls and can mount up? Any help is appreciated.

Imounted my pedels where I wanted them and then I cut my shifter lever and bent a brake rod o where I wanted it.

I made these out of 1/4", 1" up and 1" out.

that looks pretty good. very nicely done. do you think you could put up a picure from a little further away to see the placement on the bike? also how did you get your controls to it? im hoping to go almost midway between mid controls and forward controls. do you think there are other bikes that have longer control arms that will reach my desired length? or do you think i could cut my controls and add some metal to add to the length? i appreciate the help.

Yea brother you have to kind of play around with everything, find the dimensions that work for you.

I purchased threaded rod and heims for my linkages. Here's a left and right pic, keep in mind my left mid operates a foot clutch:
