Ever wrastle with the shift rubber? How about the kick start rubber? Well don't wrestle it.... do it this way....
Yeah.... Partzilla still has 'em. From what I've heard, the repops don't last long. And I recommend you use only genuine Yamaha replacement kick and shift rubbers.
Great thread, guys. Thanks much! If I owned any hairspray I'd try this last one. LOL. Boiling water and Wesson oil sounds like a combo I can deal with.....and the hair spray can keep you looking smooth on those windy days!
Especially when you go out to the mailbox on fathers dayOne cannot overemphasize the importance of quality rubbers...
Spent my life as a mechanic... and yeah, heat is mechanics 101. You have to remember though, most folk here didn't. Your average encyclopedia salesman (for instanceIsn't heating up old rubber to install/remove/replace part of Old bike restoration 101?
There are bikes (like my XJ650) that if you dont know to heat up the carb boots, you are going to have a really hard time removing/replacing carbs.
I may say that NOT knowing it is a right of passage that once you learn it (the hard way) you are initiated![]()
