Trying to be cheap, but not stupid. Was wondering if there is any necessity in using the lock tabs on the rear sprocket, and/or the front/rear brake disk. Was thinking that locktite blue should suffice with the original bolts. Was even thinking of going with stainless bolts..maybe allen head. Thoughts? Or is this just a VERY bad idea?

You probably won't have any luck finding Allens or stainless for the sprocket. That's a special low head bolt and a fine thread. The discs, on the other hand, are not that special. I run stainless button head Allens w/ wave lock washers on one .....

On another, I still have the lock tabs but use polished stainless hex bolts .....

Just a word of caution - be sure to match the lengths correctly. On some of the early hubs, the mounting holes are not drilled through all the way. Too long a bolt can break the back side of the hub out.
