Can someone direct me for what sport bike front end would be compatible or at least most simplistic to start looking out for? Or any info would be appreciated !
Forgot to mention ... have 1981 a xs650 special. Had the bike when I was 17 and just got her back! She fired up even though the carb bowls where shillacked about an inch thick and crusty. I cleaned them and even sent them off to old school carbs but they still just pour gas like a siv out the back... maybe the petcock diaphragm?
Yamaha R1 forks, not sure what year though. Check my build thread, it’s there somewhere. Found someone who could press the old tree stem out and into the newer ones, makes getting different sized bearings easier. I cant exactly remember what was done but I think he had to add a collar of some form to make it work.
Mule used some conventional CBR forks on his Moss Landing XS tracker. Personally, I think conventional/ RWU forks look better, and the will not reduce steering lock, like some beefy USD forks may do. https://www.bikeexif.com/mule-yamaha-xs-street-tracker
