I have still new in the box a 1979 new old stock, never used, fuel tank for a XS650SF in black gold. Yamaha Number 2MO 241100-00-H9. No Longer available through Yamaha, not available through Speed and Sport, if they had one they'd want $598. Pictures are available, p.m. me with an email address. Black with gold flecks, requires two petcocks (not included). $495 includes shipping.

If it was a 79 standard I might be tempted.

Why? What is different besides color? They have the same stock number except for last two digits, H9 vs 03. Of course color is enough.

You have a tank for a special XS650SF I would love a tank for a standard 1979 XS650F (different tank)
