Neck bearings. Has anyone put them in a 72

From what I've read, the newer bearings stick up a little on the later year bikes. I was just wondering if anyone has installed the tapered bearing's on a 72 with success. I was worried that our favorite steering tension knob might be an issue some how. Thanks

Yes the tapered bearing kit work just fine with no problems. When I install them I put the races in the freezer and heat the neck a little with a hair drier. They will pretty much slip into place

Got them in my '72 but I'm running a modified 35mm triple tree (shortened the stem) without the tension knob. Seem to recall they fit just fine.

Got them installed yesterday: about 2mm too high, but the headlamp fixation on the lower tree helps the headlamp/ears not too move
