just finished rewiring according to the simplified diagram. its a 80'. i checked out the coil at 2.5ohms. checked power to coil. had battery charger hooked up while trying to kick the bike. does the battery need to be fully charged at 12v?? and how do i know if the ignitor is still good?

If the battery is still charging, then the voltage will be not really DC but more like an AC voltage on top of whatever the battery voltage is and the TCI may not work.

Charge the battery overnight and try again in the morning, but only if your charger is a trickle charger putting out no more than 2 Amps and is regulated. If it is not regulated, then the battery voltage will continue to climb after the battery is charged.
