Side stand

Hi, just got a NOS side stand spring as mine was missing. It doesn't tension the arm when its down and when i pull it up the arm then springs back down. Has any one got any pics of how its set up ? the bike is a 77 D

You have #9 in Jayel's diagram backwards. I did the same thing.

The Yamaha parts drawing is wrong. Part #9 should be flipped around so the spring peg is on top .....
