Tempting, but...

I can see the appeal in that!
I know this is a little earlier model, but I always had an interest in restoring A Tiger Cub! :geek:

You guys are a BIG help!:laugh:

I texted the owner with a couple of basic questions. If the engine is free and the tank is solid...

It IS nibbling at me, but that thing needs a LOT of help and I assume old Triumph parts are A) rare, B) expensive, 3) hard to find and IV) expensive.

Did I mention that parts are likely costly?

You would be surprised at the amount of parts availability for old British bikes, there is still a very large fan base for them. Just Google vintage Triumph motorcycle parts. I can’t speak to current prices, but back when I restored my old Triumph Bonneville it was surprisingly affordable to buy new parts. And unlike the carburetors on our old XS650’s, you can still buy brand new Amal carburetors.
Here is just a short sample of parts suppliers,

And I believe I still have a small assortment of Spanners and sockets I bought back when I was hoping to get the 500 Triumph I had back on the road, sold the bike but kept the tool for some reason.

PS: please note that I used the term "spanners" and not open end wrenches to keep it on topic;)

Newer seen this model in real life nor smaller than 500 cc Triumphs
Not a snowballs chance in a warm place here finding any parts what so ever at any price.Just to forget
It sends signals being older than 70 but the thank looks so.

I would inspect the big parts block and so and if possible try to turn engine
And I would google prices and availability of parts in England Pistons valves etc
Engine internals and would not be surprised if they are gone obsolete even if it is a Known brand

Front brake looks large for a 250 but can be the same as for 500 s and 650 s

$ 300 There is parts for But again it can be no parts available if bad luck
