throttle cables a little long?

So I bought some throttle cables for my 75 xs and I put them on and they seem to be a little long as I have a little bit too much play in my throttle. I have adjusted as much as I can on the cable itself. I suppose I could thread out the part where the cable goes into the carb and put an adjuster on there to make up for the play. Are there any cables out there that have adjusters at both ends? Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like you got the wrong cable. Where did you buy it? I just replaced a throttle cable on my XS that I bought from Mikes XS, and it was exactly the right length. I would double check with whomever you bought it from, and make sure it is correct.
