Single over-hand entry, and no electrics at all, so probably a dirt bike. Looks vintage, and could be Yamaha, Honda, or anything. Thanks for your help.
Guessing - the grips say early '70 Honda (SL,XL) the throttle housing takes a cable that has a rubber boot that goes over the tube extending from the housing. The early CR Honda had that style, but the housing was black anodized. Early DT Yamahas also used that grip style (they hurt).
One more thing I'll offer a thought on: the tube extending from housing may be what's left of the outer cable-end that would have threaded into the housing.
It's got me bugged now; please let me know what you find.
It's all one piece -- that extended tube is part of the housing.
I took a quick look at some early 70s Yamaha, Honda, and Kawasaki dirt bikes, but I haven't done a deep dive yet.
Holding out on that a little longer, hoping someone will recognize it.
