I am a first timer at the xs rebuilding thing and was wondering if anybody can give me some tips on how to get the heads to break free from the jugs when the pistons seem to be seized, I can get the heads and jugs to slide up about 2-3 inches. Any help would be much appreciated.

do you have the two small 8mm bolts next to the spark plugs removed? also a 6mm bolt at the back by the cam chain adjuster? the pistons may very well be seized to the bores, get the head off then you can soak the piston/bore with penetrating oil

Many times just soaking isn't enough. You need to resort to the block of wood and BFH, lol.

Got the one by the adjuster, did not see the others, will check it out. Thanks.
