Yes, that does look a bit too tight. The outer pad in particular needs to be able to slide in and out a bit. It's the one that the piston in your caliper pushes against. The fix should be simple enough though. Just file the slots in the new pads a little so they do slide. The backing plates on your new pads do appear to be rather roughly cast.
I thought about that but it didn't seem like something I should have to do. They should fit.
I can make them fit as long as it doesn't affect integrity.
Or I can order new pads.
Can someone elaborate more on how to coax the piston back to fit the new rotors and pads. I've seen lots of post regarding using c clamps or vise grips but no pics to show how to do it.
Any pics 5twins? I know you have a plethora.
I know to loosen or remove the brake fluid cap first.
Found some good videos on compressing the piston. It's what I though but I wanted to see it first. I'll get to filing those pads now to make them fit. Then on to the new rotors.
