Fiddled with it and fiddled with it but no joy getting the bottom screw out. Decided to try the other fork. Didn't work on that one either but wonder of wonders it came apart anyway. The reason my super duper tool didn't work became obvious.
This doesn't look like either 75 or 79 forks. Is this one of those emulator things? The short spring has been cut and there was no spacer under the top plug which BTW was a SOB to get out. A 12 point 7/16 socket just kind of fit on the end which allowed me to get the other fork apart.
