So I’ve been looking for one of little snap/locking tabs for my choke lever on my VM 34s for about 3 weeks. I KNEW I had it but for the life on me couldn’t find it. I broke down and bought a new plunger assembly last night and today I found it!

When I went to change the battery on my drill motor - BAM! Stuck to the bottom side of the screw holding magnet on the top.

Must have stuck it down on the bench without the battery in it and it picked it up and never noticed.

Could be quite entertaining to see where people finally end up finding the things they have misplaced around the shop.

One I know well was doing some Building job carpentering
At a break he went to the fridge for making a sandwich .. and absent minded put the hammer in the fridge.
It took him a while to find it again Looking for it at a lot of places

I was rebuilding my carburetors once, and I dropped a tiny screw. I spent hours on my hands and knees searching the floor and under my bench, I finally gave up. Later I was reaching for a screwdriver when I saw it. It had somehow bounced upward and landed on my tool shelf! :laugh2:

I love it when you are showing us your shop porn.
I think you should include the eye candy in all your replies regardless of topic.
Maybe it's just me but I like it a LOT.
Very meticulous.; your bike as well as your shop.
You pack one heckuva 1-2 punch.

I used to think that it would be great to have one of those epoxy speckled finish floors in my garage. Till my neighbor did it to his and while working on one of his bikes we dropped a small screw and washer. After crawling around on our knees with lights it finally took sweeping the floor to find them.

If it's a small enough screw check the bottom of your shoe

I've got a bunch of microwave magnets that I'll place around wherever I'm working on the bike especially where it's a tight fit to get a screw started
It'll catch that damn lock Washer every time

I noticed you have the same type of engine stand that I have.

Many years back while I was working as the "On the Road" mechanic for the company I worked for I had at some point lost a large Snap-On screwdriver. Looked all over the service truck and back at the shop and after a few months broke down and bought a new one.

Then a few years latter I was sent to one of the company quarries where I was asked to replace a failed window mechanism in the driver's door of a Mack truck fairly common problem under the conditions these trucks deal with around a quarry. Company had mostly Macks so I grabed a good used inner door panel with everything needed to fix this truck from our "spare parts" ie the junk yard at the shop I worked out of and headed up to this location.

Removed the bad inner door panel and guess what I found laying in the bottom of the door? Yep now I had two of those large Snap-On screw drivers! As I said changed a few of those inner door panels over the years and guess this was not the first time I worked on that truck's window!

Like finding a hundred dollar bill in the pocket of that suit coat you only wear once a year. 👌
