Hi guys.I`m new here and recently bought my first XS with some LITTLE issues. The carbs have literally exploded from electric sparks so they are destroyed and melted also almost all the wiring is burned.I mounted some other carbs Kawasaki GPZ750 with new manifolds cuz they are pretty similar but I haven`t started the engine yet

I`m planing to make a low bobber out of it

This is how ugly i bought it

(I`m from Kosovo so English is not my first language)

That's a start. You have a very interesting way of adding a hardtail. Was there a reason you did it like that?

You are in Kosovo now? I visited near there last year, my brother and I went through Serbia and Croatia. We had a great time there, the culture is rich, the history is amazing and the women are beautiful.

Keep us updated on the bike, looks like you have some different ideas. Good luck!

I did the hardtail in the bigining with the swingarm attached to be sure my rear wheel will be at the same points and not disordered.

I`m native Albanian as almost all the population in Kosovo, and Serbia or Croatia are completly different countries and different cultures

FrilandXS, welcome to the forum, and good luck with your build. I like the rear tyre design, ha, ha!

Anlaf

Yeah, I was going to say, there is something different on that rear wheel, but I'm not quite sure what..............

Anyway, welcome to the forum, looks like you have a good start already!

DAT TIRE is the reason I bought the bike

Today I disassembled the engine to see it condition and to find why my starter was not spinning the engine and found the issue

Turned out the valves needed to be grinded than adjusted

I think this why the starter didn`t spin the engine

FrilandXS, I like the engine stand over the bucket of oil. Good improvisation.

The cylinders suggest the bike was stood unused for a while. Are you thinking of a re-bore and new pistons and rings?

Anlaf

No they don`t need rings or re-bore (in that pic the cylinder aren`t cleaned from oil) because the bike was running good about two month ago before these exploded

I know that aluminium melts by 700°C

IMG-20130906-00503_zpseda2ba26.jpg

Anyway today I grinded the valves and checked them if gasoline leaks.they didn`t leak at all

WOW!!! Was anyone on the bike when that happened? If so I hope they did not get hurt too bad. Good luck with the build.

As I know from the previews owner the carbs were leaking, the bike fell aside the - and + wire from the battery touched than KABOOM!.None was hurt.

welcome to the xs650 . com forum .
I too am in process of a new build.
you look like to know auto cad very well , I do like the fork design.
enjoy yourself and your build.

So I completed the frame work and assembled the engine and started it with my new carbs after i made them richer on fuel but their not quite ready because the engine can`t idle on low revs with them  I make some more adjustment and than see
