Hey I'm moving along with my bike, and I want to convert it to a twin disk brake front end, and I'd also like to have an 18 inch front wheel.

Does anyone know where I could find an 18 inch wheel with twin disks? Or where I could acquire the hub, rim, and spokes to put one together myself?

Thank you

Hi 77xs,
so long as you want a wire wheel, it's easy.
All XS650 front wheels where the brake disk bolts straight onto the hub are drilled and tapped both sides to accept two disks.
De-spoke the hub of your choice and lace an 18" rim onto it. MikesXS sells spoke packages. Buchanan's sells better ones at greater cost.

Hi,

You could keep an eye out on ebay or such like for an 18" rim. Lacing a rim to your hub is no big deal though if you want to give it a go.

As for rotors that will fit - check this link out http://www.650rider.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=42928

All you need to be conscious of is the offset.

It really depends on how far you want to go with your front end - Just adding another XS650 rotor and caliper is a very easy bolt on process. Adding different rotors and calipers will require some working out, measuring and possibly machining. Or you can go the whole hog and stick a totally different set of forks on there, along with calipers and rotors.

I did a Yamaha R1 USD front end on the last Cafe build I did - here's the link, it might gove you some ideas
