Just thought i would chew the fat over the front brakes i got for my xs650c. It has twin disc set up OE so i looked into putting the stainless steel pistons in, but i am not sure about these ? St/st is softer than the steel originals and i reckon it is vital that the fluid is spotlessly clean as the piston would soon become scraped and leaks round the seal start. I refer to the pistons sold in uk at yambits, mikexs does not state if his calliper piston are st/st. Furthermore the OE callipers where very quickly superseded to a floating calliper, so are the original callipers no good? The action of both pistons moving looks good on paper but must be iffy in reality? i bought a 22mm round master cylinder from mikesxs this seems ok, and fitted a 1980 single floating calliper , the feel at the lever is none existent, just rock so hopefully it will be ok when on the road. Hope using a m/cyl for twin calliper setup will be ok on the single calliper, i.e. not blow the seals?
